Tyneside Home Improvements Shortlisted for G26 Business Excellence Award!

Four consecutive years of national recognition for North East home improvement specialists.

Tyneside Home Improvements (THI) is delighted to announce that we have been named a finalist in the Business Excellence Award category at the prestigious G26 Awards 2026.

Often described as the Oscars of the fenestration industry, the G Awards celebrate outstanding achievement across the UK’s glazing and home improvement sector.

This latest nomination marks an impressive milestone for THI: our fourth consecutive year as a G Awards finalist.

For an independent business proudly based in the North East, sustained recognition on a national stage is an achievement we are immensely proud of.

Recognising more than great installations

The Business Excellence Award recognises achievement across the whole organisation, making this year’s nomination particularly meaningful.

Our entry highlighted the progress THI has made in recent years, including:

• Investment in our future: The acquisition and redevelopment of our new Gateshead headquarters, providing approximately 3,000 sq ft of offices and 3,500 sq ft of warehouse space.
• Developing our people: Continued investment in apprenticeships, professional qualifications, training, and career development.
• Award-winning workmanship: National recognition at the GGP Installer Awards, including Best Conservatory or Orangery Installation in 2024 and Best Heritage Project in 2025.
• Customer satisfaction: A 4.7 out of 5 Trustpilot rating at the time of our award submission.
• High standards: CHAS Standard, Advanced and Elite accreditation, alongside SHINE Intermediate recognition.

In 2025, THI was also shortlisted in three separate G Awards categories: Installer of the Year, Promotional Campaign of the Year and Training & Development Initiative of the Year.

A team achievement

From our beginnings as a traditional window and door business in 2008, THI has developed into a comprehensive home improvement company delivering everything from windows and replacement roofs to conservatories, orangeries, extensions, and major building projects.

That progress has only been possible through the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the people behind the business.
